Cat Lover 02-08-2009, 09:37 AM whats the deal with going back to albums whats next 8 track 2ndGen.Rocket 02-08-2009, 10:26 AM It is spelled "vinyl", dumbass. Steel 02-08-2009, 11:33 AM Because some people prefer the sound of analog media. Along with the pops and clicks and such that comes with owning a vinyl. The only real advantage to them is that the sound engineers can only turn the compression up so far before the needle starts jumping off of the record. Nowadays because they don't have that problem with CD's, they crank the shit out of the compression and consequently, albums sound like shit and are hard to listen too because they're too fucking loud all of the time. wonner 02-08-2009, 03:07 PM  2ndGen Aside from sounding better, as Steel mentions, vinyl is "cool" mostly because of DJs. Also, anything retro will inevitable become cool. 8-tracks will never become cool because they blow. DarkAngelKamui 02-08-2009, 03:53 PM I'm a DJ, and I still can't imagine using CDs over vinyl... Not to say there's no benefit (like not breaking your back carrying around your collection), but there's always going to be a desire to spin actual records. And no, 8-Tracks are technically cool but not cool enough to come back in any shape or form. It's the Betamax of audio formats. wonner 02-08-2009, 03:58 PM I'm a DJ Spinning Drum and Bass records back to back barely qualifies you as "a DJ". ;) DarkAngelKamui 02-08-2009, 07:46 PM Pwned. lol Ok, so I'm a wanna-be till I can get some tables I can actually do stuff on. So sue me. :asshole: Still more then you can do, I bet. wonner 02-08-2009, 08:07 PM I dunno DAK....I don't know how to put this, but...I'm kind of a big deal. You might have heard of me; I go by the name DJ Qbert. DarkAngelKamui 02-08-2009, 08:25 PM *laughs* Q-Ball, I'd believe. Qbert? No wai.
