Never seen a pump install where you have to "hack" the sump within the fuel tank to place the pickup in the right spot. Before that you have to drop the muffler to get the tank out (bc no "access panel" was cut in the body). Im not even going to ask how much of a pita it is to do a H/C/I install with the engine in the car.

yeah, I've heard it's a pain to do that install on an f body

that's why labor in almost $100/hr now. i don't think the big 3 have thought about such things as access panels like the import builders have. i used to work as a mechanic, labor then was only $35/hr. ur charged what the "time and labor" guide says it takes to do a particular job and u have to be able to do it as fast or faster to make any money. sometimes i used to think that some of those times were with the engine out of the car.

the car now has an access panel thanks to ethan's cutting skills. about as easy as its gonna get.

yeah i was about to say just do like all of us f-body guys do and cut an access panel in the trunk... easy as pie

i can see doing it on an f-body but id never buy a fox body w/ one cut its about retarded. our tanks drop in about 5 minutes.

pain in the butt they are. but i did mine when i put the 12 bolt rear in so it was cake. already had everything out of it.
