SpartanTS 04-21-2006, 12:47 PM That's right folks! For just $25,000, you too can get to Heaven via ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/A-LECTURE-JESUS-APPEARED-TO-ME-I-WILL-SPEAK-IN-PUBLIC_W0QQitemZ9509676983QQcategoryZ1469QQssPageN ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem MiniMikeFoRealRealz 04-21-2006, 03:27 PM i wonder how long it will take for YZF to comment... SpartanTS 04-21-2006, 03:30 PM He hasn't been around in a while. MiniMikeFoRealRealz 04-21-2006, 03:35 PM huh. well, so much for making bets. preludedude 04-23-2006, 08:20 PM why pay the $25k if he just told us his answers in the auction description? idiot.. Mark skydivr7673 04-24-2006, 12:41 PM I have been asking all kinds of questions of this lady, and one thing continually comes ot mind that she cannot answer. I asked her why she thinks she should profit from Jesus, and she says that asking for $25K is the same as what a priest in a church does to survive....She currently has four auctions like this going on--three identical ones, and then a fourth to reveal the exact place where she met Jesus. She says that you can go down in history!!! What a crock.... Tofuball 04-24-2006, 02:49 PM +1 : Take heed that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, "I am the Christ (Messiah)," and they will lead many astray...And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray...For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:4-24) Tofuball 04-24-2006, 04:30 PM Oh man, you don't think supernatural acts dont occur here and now? :) "I tell you the truth, if you believe in me you will do the same things that I am doing. In fact, you will do even greater things, because I am going away to the Father." The things that God has allowed even I, to see; amazing, I tell you! Say No To Pistons 04-24-2006, 05:47 PM ill buy a few heavens please... Tofuball 04-24-2006, 06:06 PM I agree with what you've said about the charismatics, lots of people erroniously equate the emotinal highs as the Sephiroth. As for the rest of what you have said; I have personally witnessed demons cast from people, one from myself. Also, two accounts I have heard from reliable friends with whom deciet finds no place. skydivr7673 04-25-2006, 09:16 AM 2 Corinthians 2 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ. many peddlers and phonies in 2006...not many genuine articles Matthew 7 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' but I wouldn't be emailing some person on the internet, God will deal with them...."vengeance is mine, I will repay" says the Lord Some thoughts... 1--you would NOT email someone over the internet? What exactly would you call what you do to try to correct others in the two forums? You see something that does not fit with your faith, and you call people on it, no? How is that any different? How many PM's, emails, and posts in threads do you make regarding spiritual things to others that you believe to be in error? Let's not have the pot calling the kettle black, ok? Seriously.... 2--Where do you get the idea that emailing someone equalls vengeance? Simply asking a question and pointing out things from Scripture hardly constitutes vengeance, Mark. You do this all the time ,and according to you it is what you should do, but someone else does it, and suddenly it becomes "vengeance"? I dont think so. You are reading far too much into this. 3--Consider the Bereans, who questioned everything they were told that was supposedly from God's Word. They wanted it verified before they would buy into it--so they spoke up, checked it over for themselves, and that was a GOOD thing. But suddenly, you act like asking this lady some questions is a bad thing? Hmmmm..... Cosby 04-25-2006, 09:59 AM http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9512175064&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX I asked if she was hot :) SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 10:20 AM no, I don't see Christians performing any supernatural acts. I believe the sign gifts passed away with the apostles and their associates, and I could back it up from scripture with time, but not here My take on the supernatural events of the past... If these events did indeed happen, there's a completely logical reason why they don't occur now, and I believe that is technology and failure to believe. Could you imagine if someone parted the Atlantic and started to walk through it? The world would either be in complete chaos or would flat out not believe it. Also, technology aids us in finding explainations for things that don't occur under normal circumstances. So if it rained 40 days and 40 nights, some meteorologist will figure out why, and we'll all see that "Oh this weather system blah blah blah, and that's why it happened." 2000 years ago we didn't have literally any technology, so there was no explaination for the supernatural. But i'll tell you this, if Mary were living in this day and age, and popped up pregnant while virgin, that would defininately require an explaination. SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 12:51 PM neither would there be an explanation for the dead being raised in self obsessed "we have it all" 2006 get over your faith in frail and transient human "technology'/engineering....believe me, it will not stop anything predicted for this earth You, and the rest of your christian friends, believe that Jesus was raised fromt the dead, which is all based on faith and a book that is full of errors. The only thing I can tell you, is that for your sake, you better be right, but I don't think God is going to give you the pleasure of telling us "I told you so". SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 01:00 PM on the contrary, YOU better be "right" (about what I'm not sure) hell awaits... So if I don't believe, i'm going to Hell? For all you know, I could be living a much better life than you morally, and less of a 'sinner' if you will. Christians are some of the biggest sinners, but because they "believe", they think that the gates are wide open for them. I'm not going to damn you to hell, but if the shoe fits... BTW, it is believed that the concept of Hell was made up to force people to go to church. This same bullshit concept exists today. SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 01:06 PM Pascal's (I hope you know who he is) wager: ‘Either God is or he is not.’. . . Since you must necessarily choose, your reason is no more affronted by choosing one rather than the other. That is one point cleared up. But your happiness? Let us weigh up the gain and the loss involved in calling heads that God exists. Let us assess the two cases: if you win you win everything, if you lose you lose nothing. Do not hesitate then; wager that he does exist. http://www.trinitysem.edu/journal/5-1/5_Petersons_PascalsWager.htm I never once said that I didn't believe in God. Next SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 01:38 PM hell awaits... I ask my fellow readers of this thread a simple question: So why do such nice Christian folks use Hell as leverage? i.e. "You can not believe all you want, but i'm going to heaven and you're going to hell in a handbasket. So you better believe, or you're going to Hell!" Boy are those words of encouragement to convert me to Christianity. Another pet peeve with Christians, is that they use heaven as an excuse for people who live without the finer things in life. i.e. "Oh sure, you live in a trash can, but if you just keep praying, once you die, you'll have those streets of gold waitin on ya!" :D Tofuball 04-25-2006, 02:49 PM You, and the rest of your christian friends, believe that Jesus was raised fromt the dead, which is all based on faith and a book that is full of errors. The only thing I can tell you, is that for your sake, you better be right, but I don't think God is going to give you the pleasure of telling us "I told you so". Do tell, I'd like to know of these errors. It doesnt matter how 'good' you are. You're not good enough. I'm not good enough, YZF isnt good enough. We all fall short of what is required to get into heaven (perfection, perfect love, perfect sinlessness). We are all sinners by our own choise. We are all bound and deserving of eternal hell. But God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him! The one believing into Him is not condemned; but the one not believing has already been condemned, for he has not believed into the name of the only begotten Son of God. SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 03:13 PM It doesnt matter how 'good' you are. You're not good enough. Sure, no one is good enough in "God's" eyes, and I don't try to be. I know i'm not perfect in any way, shape, form, or fashion. However, I do live my life to a high moral standard. I don't live life like a hedonist. But YZF said it best, Hell awaits. According to him, i'm going. Way to judge people  Before you get all pissed and start threatening my life YZF, here's a bible quote for you: He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty Proverbs ch. 16, verse 34. You get pissed off fairly easily, as people on an internet message board get under your skin. How christian of you? :) As for an error in the bible, here's one for you, courtesy of Deuteronomy ch. 34, verse. 7 And Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. Don't let faith get in the way of common sense. That's what happened with those Mexicans at that metal cross. They paid for it, with an instantaneous death. See why education should accompany religion? SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 03:25 PM nah, I'm not mad...your posts are relatively benign, compared to some stuff posted by Denis, ha "hell awaits" those who refuse to repent....that's the idea If that's indeed what you mean, then I stand corrected. I'm not a devout christian, however I have some christian beliefs. However, there are some things in particular, that relate to my culture specifically, that makes me despise Christianity. SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 03:26 PM how is this an "error"? recall that many before the Flood, and even after it, lived to be hundreds of years old of course, you also refer to all of Genesis as an "error" most likely When you see someone's age in the bible, it's good to use the +/- 25 year rule ;) This has been said many times, even by Bible Scholars. SpartanTS 04-25-2006, 03:27 PM don't despise the God of the Bible because of sinful people Not God, Christians. |
