of course i'd want the fixable bayonet as well.
also if you guys have information on carrying laws for muskets, that'd be really helpful.
thanks!

Supper 11-01-2005, 10:31 PM cabela's sells hawken kits and fully built hawken rifles. there are also several other places online you can find them, just do a websearch for "muzzle loader" Transamwonderland 11-02-2005, 12:40 PM Google will be helpful too. aznpoopy 11-03-2005, 11:06 AM instead of searching impersonally on google, i'd rather listen to the helpful and tongue in cheek advice of the wonderful smart people on illstreet 91lx 11-03-2005, 12:32 PM any mega sports store. Alex-7 11-05-2005, 02:19 PM Asian+musket=LMFAO! You have to post a vid if you get one. burnoutking999 11-07-2005, 03:20 PM instead of searching impersonally on google, i'd rather listen to the helpful and tongue in cheek advice of the wonderful smart people on illstreet Hhahahaha, screw you all! i acually have a civil war or earlier period musket that will work with some repair. I would be willing to sell it if the price was right. Ill have to do some research to detirmine what its worth but if you throw out a decent price i may part with it. This is the real deal octogon barrel and everything. It is VERY old. RoadRaceJosh 11-08-2005, 08:16 AM I have a friend that claims to enjoy shooting his .45 muzzle loading rifle. I've known him 14 years and don't think he's shot it once in those 14 years. I like technology myself so it's cartridge weapons for me. A coworker loaned me a Lyman reloading book that has a lot of black powder info. Wouldn't be a bad place to start. http://www.lymanproducts.com/lymanproducts/books.htm 1/2 way down the page aznpoopy 11-08-2005, 08:59 AM Hhahahaha, screw you all! i acually have a civil war or earlier period musket that will work with some repair. There is a distinction (at least around here). A musket is generally a smoothbore barrel. You load powder, then ball, prime and fire. It's meant to be a rank and file lead slinger, hurling great numbers at an opposing enemy that also is.. in rank and file line. A muzzleloading rifle on the other hand is a rifled barrel. I have two of those. One is a percussion cap and the other is a flintlock. The percussion is a Thompsons Hawkens model, .50cal. I use a Green Mountain 1:72 twist barrel with Lyman peep sights. It is capable of propelling a patched roundball out to 100+ yards with great accuracy. There are a lot of tricks to getting them 'worked up' to do this, but the work is worth the reward. Here was a contest to see who could blow the center of the bulls-eye out in 25 rounds or so.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/Threerun533/50caltarget.jpg |
