I've gotten old. At 24, my metabolism has slowed down, and on top of the qutting of smoking (almost 6 weeks now bitchesss!) in inevitable weight gain has started. Just a little pudge in the belly and some love handles starting up. I need to nip this one at the bud. I need your help because I haven't exercised regularly since I did track in highschool.. damn 8 years ago. One thing I will not do is jog. MY flat feet and knees will simply not allow it.
What should I do to start burning this excess fat off of my belly? I'm looking for a mix of aerobic and anaerobic exercises, but all stuff I can do at home without weights. Think military type stuff. I was thinking of getting one of those things for yer bicycle so's you can pedal it inside your house with some resistance without going anywhere, cause i don't want to get shot by the mexicans around here for being teh gringo on the bike. I also saw this neat pull up bar on TV that requires no drilling of the door frame or stressing out the door frame by opening inside of it, and it can also serve as a a sit-up-foot-holder-downer.
I Just need direction. Where do I start?

Here ya go, fatty. :D
And if you want to just do it the cheap way, just start with a few sets of crunches (Do as MANY as you can as a baseline, then divide that total number into a rep set in a declining fasion. Example: Say you're only capable of doing 20. 8, 6, 4, 2 would be the reps you would want to do. From there, it's a matter of setting up a time limit on how much time you have to complete the entire routine. Be realistic, but also make it challenging enough that you have to work to get it.
After a few weeks, do another baseline test. If you do better, remember your max and repeat. If you do worse, well then you need to lay off the snacks.

Unless i get my conciousness somehow transferred into a T-800 endoskeleton....
I found my old CAP PT regs, and I'll be starting back on that cycle. Hopefully I'll be showing improvement by christmastime.

Same thing happened to me. I started jogging, but that just hurts so much, in many ways. So I bought a bike a few months ago.
I'm still the same weight (195-200 lbs., 6'4"), but my legs have gotten noticeably bigger, and I feel better over all. I don't know if I'm losing any fat and gaining muscle, but my pants aren't getting any looser around the waist yet.
