Didn't get the letter I was hoping for from the college I applied to. I don't really have much to say. Sleep in the bed I made and all that nonsense. But I really liked the thought of turning my life around, getting out of this slump, and doing something (again).

Oh well. I'll fight the good fight, go to a local technical college. I'm still leaving this fucking company.

Girlfriend's wiggin' out because of the plans to move in.

Queen, how can I be more blunt than, "The tech school will take me, don't worry."

I was the whiniest mother fucker I have ever met at one point in my life. Everything that happened, I wanted to dwell on it, and bitch about it rather than manning the fuck up and just doing it.

Valuable lesson: Time is ticking, and shit is happening while you're bitching. You can't change what has happened, you can only change what is going to happen. Living in a state of worry about shit that has failed imprisons you. Face where you're at, figure out where you want to be at, and fucking go get it.

Forwards ever, backwards never. Godspeed fag.

jk, i love you bro.

you can't. lol is she seriously afraid you won't get in or is she just annoyed that things aren't working out exactly as planned

BUT tbh it's probably better for you to start there anyway - less expensive, and generally more lax and easier to do well.. it will help you get back into the swing of school without being an overload. though obviously check with the other college to make sure at least some of the credits would transfer

do you think grades are the reason you didn't get into the school you wanted?

I'm not dwelling, I'm already talking to the tech people about the status of my transcript there.

I've also:
contacted my physician about going back on meds for my ADD
begun the appeal process for the college
contacted HS for transcrpits to be sent
scheduled assessment test next week.

Hang in there bro. If you haven't gone to college yet just handle your gen ed at the place you can go to and just do really well. You will be able to go where you want to if you do that.

She's a worry-wort.

I know my grades are why I'm not in, but I'm not letting it get me down.

I've applied to the gen studies transfer program.

you're older now........once you figure things out and where you want to be/go with your life it will be easier and more then likely you will be more dedicated

I think that's my biggest problem.

I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I love working on cars, but don't want to do it for a living.

I love doing computers, but can't program to save my life.

I think the only option I have left is professional race car driver.

Does the school you want to go to have a feeder community college? If so than I would suggest moving to the college town, getting a job, and going to the CC.

Charlottesville (my home town) is the home of UVA, not a shabby school. We also have PVCC (Piedmont Virginia Community College), PVCC has the rep of being where all the dumb fucks that didn't pay attention in High School go, if they decide to try college. However PVCC also is the primary feeder school for UVA, if you go to PVCC for two years and maintain a good GPA (I forget what it needs to be above) then you get pretty much guaranteed acceptance into UVA for your final years, and graduation... I'm sure the school you want to go to has something similar.

I wouldn't stress it too much bud. Just remember that things turn out the best for people who make the best of the way things turn out.

fend is right....
Try a CC for a while. Most CC's have guaranteed transfers to 4 year colleges. I know here in CO its true. I wanted out of college as fast as I could so I would take all of my calculus (1-3) over the summer at the local CC and transfer them up to my 4 year. I was a math major, and it would piss of my adviser and other teachers but oh well. Plus I learned a lot more because calculus was the only thing I focused on during the summer.

hang in there....education can get you a lot further.

$%^#%^*&#% I still hate Grad school...need to finish it up. 1 month and 10 days.

Hows the med school Queen? Whats your student loan up to?

Yeah, if you're a bit older and do well in a CC, you're almost guaranteed acceptance to a university.

I transfered from STCC (Springfield Technical Community College, in MA) to UA. Problem is, i forgot how much i hated the huge university type teaching. Lucky switching to mines engineering put me back in a small class setting that i thrive in, since the school of mines is pretty small (and theres only 13 in the nation).

100% job placement, here I come!

OR I could get the scrip, save it up and use it in school when I need it.

Hypothetically.

So an update, not that you care.

I went to the Tech College, and took a placement test. I exceeded all requirements for the program I want to go into. Either tomorrow or next week I'll talk to an adviser about it.

FAFSA expects me to pay $9,000! Good thing I've been saving, and still have open loans.

With FAFSA, if you're under 23, and a independent, they still asume you're dependent, and you're fucked. Coupled with my... ~$20,000 made before taxes last fiscal year, and bam, I'm rich! LOL.

I'm looking forward to the tech school thing, actually. I'm enrolled in a transfer credit program, since the college I applied to rejected me based on my bad, bad, bad college GPA. Hopefully I'll be able to take a metal fab class, too.

All depends on what kind of education you are talking about. :blah:

Good luck on the tech school stuff, I have several friends that found their niche in tech school after washing out of College.
