Supper, those are badass. Where do you find this shit???
I spend too much time online :(

I currently have one folder of unsorted super high res (so high a resolution I can't view them on my screen at 1680x1050) with over 1,000 images in it.

Then there is the "New Desktop Images" folder with ~ 200 unsorted images in it.
Then there are the sorted desktop image folders, each with ~ 100 images in it, except the "Women" folder, then its at around 300, and the "nekkid" is around 500.

Then there are the "Unsorted" "need sorted" "more shit needing sorted" "more new images" "random images" and "other" folders.

All in all, in those I have close to 2,000 unsorted images.

all of those on one HD and not counting all the sorted images on the other HD.

Fine.... here's one from about 5mins ago.

I took the background pic... it's of a Multiple-Launch-Rocket-System live fire demo I went to at an army base in Co. Spgs. about a year ago.

Koala's my iBook HD, Data is the 80GB HD on my server.

The `pornpile' mentioned above is actually the folder in the lower right corner, which has overgrown the folder and is now spreading all over the screen. Most of it is in the lower right corner, but some videos have spread... the "New downloads" folder is mostly porn from P2P, the two videos to the left of "TinyPics" folder are porn videos.

Apple-Shift-3 grabs the entire screen and writes it as "Picture 1.png" to the desktop.
Apple-Shift-4 lets you select an area to grab, saves the same as before.

A program called "Grab" is in the Utilities folder, and that's fairly simple to use as well.

On Linux, there's a "scrot" command:

scrot is a screen capture utility using the imlib2 library to aquire and save images. scrot has a few options, detailed below. Specify [file] as the filename to save the screenshot to. If [file] is not specified, a date-stamped file will be dropped in the current directory.

You need another program to do what MacOS does anyways?

I'm still trying to figure out why people think windows is so great.

Mac OS X-Tiger: $129.

Mac OS X is less than half the cost of Xp. Hell, the Windows-XP upgrade alone is more expensive than a full version of Mac OS X.

Not to mention security, stability, and virus problems that windows seems to have; and that you need boatloads of extra software in windows to do what X does out of the box.

I use Linux most of the time, so I'm not saying I like Windows. However, when you start getting into hardware Windows becomes much cheaper. Though I suspect that will change with the new Intel chips.

You know Mac is built on a FreeBSD/Darwin kernel? I took a few apps for Linux and built them on Mac. Works quite well. Mac OS X has X11 as an optional install, so X11 apps run on here.

The ease of a Mac on the power of Unix. It's really quite nice.

I must say, Ubuntu is a pretty good Linux distro. My dad got a "new" laptop (compaq something-or-other, 1.somethingGHZ, 30GBHD, D-Link PCMCIA -G wireless card) and Ubuntu Live works quite well on it. Got on the net over wireless within 10mins of booting it. The interface is nice and clean as well.

ComradeGiant
03-28-2006, 12:06 AM
Yeah, Ubuntu is nice. Thats what I use actually.

I'm actually pretty computer literate, computer information systems is my minor, but I like to play devils advocate for the Windows people.

My real opinion is that Windows is like Starbucks: it sucks but its what people recognize. If I'd had more money to sling at a computer when I got my HP I would have gone for a Powerbook G4.

Does the mac also have a hugh pile of pics that get updated, and new pics each day, plus storage on the internet and print pics as posters and mail them to you?

I understand that MacOS can walk on water also??
