intel = bleah.

I had a game rig built with an Athlon 2600 something or other IIRC a year and a half ago until something fucked up and it shit the bed. Had top of the line Radeon graphics card and all the goodies. Never got it to run again so its just sitting there.

Have a half built server that I've been raping parts off of for other projects that I don't even remember what processor is in it.

Built several work stations with low speed processors, can't remember for sure, but I think they are old school barton core Athlons.

But my main computer is a Dual 2.5 ghz G5 w/ 500 gigs of HD space (75% full ATM).

You can send it to me, hell i'll get it working :D

I have two Athlon systems, but i'm parting them out. I like Intel so much because I get to build a new computer every year thanks to their Retail Edge Program. This year, i'm getting a Pentium D 820, Intel PCI-E board again, WindowsXP Pro, Adobe Photoshop Elements/Adobe Premiere Elements for a whopping $215, retail is $800. One of the best perks of selling their products. AMD does the same type deal for retail sales guys, but it isn't nearly as good as Intel's deal.

Main computer:
iBook G4 @ 933mHz, 256M RAM, 40GB HD, 14.1" screen, umm... DVD/CDRW... Airport Extreme....

Server's a 1.3GHz Duron, 20GB+80GB HD, 256M RAM, 3Com NIC. CDROM doesn't work, no floppy/monitor/mouse/keyboard. Runs Slackware Linux.

There's a 133mHz pentuim with 16MB RAM running win95 in my closet. It needs to go back to work eventually.

Our first computer was a NEC Ready 7220. It had a 1.8 GB Hard Drive, 8MB of Ram, 15" Monitor, Remote Control, and the "ORIGINAL" Pentium Processor at a whopping 75MHz. We got it from Circuit City back in 1995.

That thing cost nearly $3,000 then. 3 Grand will get you a lotta computer nowadays. More than you'll ever need for a while.

The total was around $2,800 to be exact.

I think we still have our old Commodore 64 around....

My system is about 5 years old now

P4 2GHZ
768MB ram
2-160GB drives
1-40GB Drive
1-80GB external drive
dvd rom
cd/r/rw drive
external DVD burner
256mb video card
firewire card

quite a few upgrades from the original, but when I bought my system my LCD cost more then the system itself...

I don't think i'm gonna upgrade for a while. For what I do with my PC's, there's nothing they can't run anyway.

Everyday I go to work and wonder why people come in to buy Athlon64 3700+ Computers for Microsoft Word and to use the Internet.

This is my new desktop...not top of the line, but quick enough.

ABIT 8NA 32X Motherboard
NVIDIAŽ C51D Based K8 939 ATX Mainboard
Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Model4400+
160 Gig Seagate ATA/300 Mb transfer rate HD
2 Gig Ram
G-Force 7600gt SLI Video Card
Pioneer DVR-109 Dual Layer 16X DVD Burner

My outgoing laptop is:
Athlon 64 Mobile
512MB DDR RAM
80 gig hdd
ATI Radeon Mobility 9600
15.4 widescreen
8X DVD+/-R RW

Gets the job done, but battery life sucks at 1 hour. So its getting replaced soon with something smaller, dual core, and that has long battery time...and will cost less that $700. (I spent $1300 on my current laptop 2.5 years ago)
