The title of the book is "Why do all the black kids sit together in the cafeteria". It's getting pretty big in college sociology curriculums so I figured a lot of the limp wristed college libs on ehre would have a counterpoint.

my belief is that black people around the school age sit together because, let's face it, they just want somebody to sit next to. chances are, they have more black friends than white friend and they feel somewhat wanted. now, that's not to say they don't socialize amongst other white folk. God knows my black friends do.

ask yourself, why did all the preps sit together? goths, hippies, nerds, and regs(ME!)?

my guess is that the hot gothic girl, who every guy had a secret thing for, would NOT want to talk to some computer nerd phsyco like supper or wonner... they just wouldn't be on the same page. now, what does your mainstream black guy talk about? how hot that pale, chunky white chick sitting on the third table from the door is....... that's what.

College liberal arts programs are a bunch of shit, talk about blind apologism and trainwreck tolerance. Blacks sit together because of modern day American black pride. Only American blacks, not blacks from the real Africa or Britain, etc. You see both types in college. The American blacks do sports or liberal arts degrees like Ethnic Studies, the foreign blacks do Calculus and Engineering classes (and quite well).

you hit it right on the head of teh nail! i have two black friends, one from britain, the other from south africa. both with a moderate accent. both are pretty smart fuckers and are totally different from the "norm" of todays black society. my other "american" black friends are sort of both, and my last group of black friends are pure "american".
