what kind of car is it? is that a cefiro? definitely not my style. but its probably fast as hell. and heavy as hell too.

why is the engine a "rb26det(t)?"

the car would be 10x hotter if it was gloss black. then it would really look like a VIP car. as it is right now... looks like a work in progress that just needs a little body work and a fresh coat of paint.

as for the wheels... that lip is crazy. not my thing either. but alot of 240sx dorks are into unnecessarily large wheel + lip and rolled/flared fenders.

Ryosuke91t
01-09-2006, 05:02 PM
VIP style eh.Black curtains in the back window. Yep, that would be nice.
I'm not sure if the big lip is just a 240sx dork thing but hey...

Maybe its just that pic, but it looks like there is a lot of negative camber going on on that car. Meaning it was probably used for drift, and is thrashed to shit.

Otherwise it would be a rather nice highway cruiser.

I like factory Chasers. I've never seen any kit for a Chaser that made it look better.

I like plenty of Japanese styles: I loved the way the IMSA GTO/GTU 7s looked, I loved the way the GTU 240SXs look. The JGTC Supra, Skyline, and RX7 look good. The WRC Pulsar GTi, Corolla, Impreza and EVO look great too.

Notice that all of these are functional race cars. For a kit to be worthwhile it needs to have a genuine aerodynamic function.

Why would anyone put ground effects on a F'n Lexus?

EDIT: I got it! The tuner front/rear bumper are much lighter than the stock bumpers. I'm sure some weight reduction on a 4000 luxo boat would do wonders for its handling abilities.

What did I say in the paragraph just before that? The one where I talked about what cars I like? Lets refresh your memory:

"I like plenty of Japanese styles: I loved the way the IMSA GTO/GTU 7s looked, I loved the way the GTU 240SXs look. The JGTC Supra, Skyline, and RX7 look good. The WRC Pulsar GTi, Corolla, Impreza and EVO look great too."

Jesus Jim, I thought you were literate.I am. Are you?

Re-read your original post and tell me how the last sentence relates to the second sentence when there's a string of pictures of cars immediately above in Ryosuke91t's post that you could have been referring to and no indication that you were being sarcastic. I took what I read at face value.

Now read your post below with my additions and see if you don't agree that it's a hell of a lot clearer what you were talking about.

Notice that all of the [cars I listed] are functional race cars [unlike the shit Ryosuke91t posted]. For a kit to be worthwhile it needs to have a genuine aerodynamic function.See how well that reads now?

I have yet to see an American independently owned shop that is on the fore-front like Top Secret, letalone that street races its shop cars.

they are losing their fanbase.
Who is "they"? and "losing their fanbase" to what? The F1 hybrids exclusive to japan?

...but I'm right. Their is no shop I can take a 7 to that does the specialty tuning that Top Secret does.
Specialty tuning such as?

Nissan Skyline (CV35)
Engine: VK45 V8 Twin Turbo SPL
Drivetrain: 6speed Getrag, ORC, RWD
Output: 720ps /7000rpm
Because none have ever witnessed a domestic V8 making 720hp? Whats in their special sauce?

I have yet to see an American independently owned shop that is on the fore-front like Top Secret, letalone that street races its shop cars.
On the forefront producing what? You glorify these companies that make high hp cars in a country that used to have self-imposed hp limits...no wonder you get excited over 700hp. In the states, people make that sort of power all day long with engines that start at the displacement most japanese cars peak at.

Street racing shop cars isn't impressive.

wow they ditched the shit motor and dropped in a larger displacment motor. The shop where I get my welding done and buy my turbochargers turns out a car every few months that would destroy that tasteless pile.

There are tons of places building amazing cars. You would probably never visit them, because they don't have a shiny 240sx in their little showroom.

As far as street racing, the tech army can bring their baddest street car to St. Louis any day. They might not get much action thouhg, you better be in the 9's to even get a race with the big boys.

the only thing this shit has proved is that japanese are superior to americans when it comes to glorifying and marketing their overall racing culture.

ryosuke, its not that 700hp monster street cars don't exist in america; it's just that they don't get the same amount of coverage that japanese shops/drivers enjoy.

after all, you rarely see jeff gordon on a dvd with a few other pro drivers go over the pros and cons of the new generation of american muscle cars during test drives and time attack.

although imo, that would be pretty interesting.

Where I'm from originally, the street racing groups mostly consist of mostly domestic cars that'll pretty much gobble up anything in its path.

Not that there's anything wrong with forced induction and non-domestic cars, but there's nothing like the tasteful sound of an American V8, enough torque to throw you back in your seat, and the only time you get to breathe is in between shifts.

I think its because its an actual culture around cars. Its not just matched up with half-naked girls. I'd like to see Jeff Gordon take his NASCAR out on the streets and woop some ass. I'd like their to be less of a divide between joe-shmo tuner and the pro he admirs. I'd like it if we had a show like Option that comes on everyweek and follows a specific shop or racer. I'd like if D1 had a No-Factory-Backed-Cars rule so that the competition will be a competition instead of everyone vs. Rhys Millen.

America does'nt have the intrest in motorsports that Japan does? Why are'nt there more cicuits. Any Gymkana? No, which takes like no space.

With a little comedy mixed in, hell yes. That would be awesome.

Option is'nt a person.
Option can't talk.
If "Smokey" Nagata says its F1 technology than it is.

You damage your own reputation every time you post.

If you watch the DVD again you will notice that neither Chiba nor the Wangan Forties ever mention F1 technology. Its Option's voice-over man.

"The suspension uses F1 technology to control the side damper pressure." is the quote you are looking for. They're dropping fancy titles on common place things. And its not any of the participants in the video saying it.

My friend has an old BMW F1 steering wheel. If he put it on his car he'd be using F1 technology to to steer his car.

Hell, 700 hp will get you waxed around here, unless you can get thee total weight down to around 2000#. There are more than a few 8-9 second cars floating around in the area. Hell, just go look at the FI section at LS1 tech and you'll see plenty of street driven cars making 700+ HP. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=9

And BTW, did you just own yourself by posting that pic? You are....weird, and that's probably putting it very lightly.
