I figure its time to finally pick up one or the other and was wondering about your opinions on which is the best.

Two words: Howard Stern.

Sirius all the way.

Howard Stern is about as far from funny as a person can get IMO.

Talk radio in general is utter shit.

I wouldn't be paying the $20 a month since it will be installed in my office, thereby falling under company expenses. But I was told they wouldn't cover initial cost of the unit.

its also really nice when riding in company pickups that don't have mp3cd players in them to just jack the XM in or run it via FM transmitter.

XM has better coverage. Just do some research of which one has better equipment. Quarterly reports should do the trick :)

How many people here have either?

If you don't have either, you really don't know what its like.

I've had XM for 3 years. I will never go back. Recently, my Protege's differential took a crap and that car no longer moves, so I got a $600 car until we get the truck finished up thats taking up the garage. I've just left the radio off because its not worth listening.

"fuck paying $20 a month for the same bullshit as regular radio"

Its $13/mo. And its not the same. You *CAN* listen to some channels that have the same music as radio....but I don't. XM 47 and 48 (Ethel and Squizz) are just awsome....better then any local channels. Cinemagic is increadible for anyone who likes movie music. The classical channels are top-notch. Opie and Anthony are better then Stern ever was.

But then again, go ahead any buy Sirius...I own over 500 shares that I bought when Sirius was less than $1/share. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, the lack of commercials is worth every penny.

I have an xm subscription. I bought a sirius receiver for when stern goes on air.

XM blows sirius away programming wise in my opinion. I only listen to 3 stations through. 40, 46 and 74. I seriously think that satelite radio is one of the best inventions in my lifetime.

I wouldn't mind getting Satellite radio, but i'm not in the car long enough on a daily basis to justify spending the money on it.

But when you have an MP3 Changer 12 Disc changer, you don't need satellite radio.
