Anyone have an opinion on the xt250 or the suzuki dual sport bike? I'm looking for something light to take across the USA on my RV.

Go Suzuki, you'll enjoy it more. Ive had a couple of enduros over the years and loved them all.

Thanks, I know what a crf is and it won't work for me.

IF you're going cross country, i'd suggest something a bit bigger than a 250. Kawasaki and Suzuki make the two best big dualsport bikes, the KLR and DR series, respectively. 650 might be on the big side, but the 400's might float your boat.

The only 250 4 stroke I ever rode was a KTM (06 Model). I felt it was underpowered compared to my CR250, but it was still a fun bike to ride. Those 400s/450s add some extra pounds, maybe 40 or so, that might be a little too much bike to be hauling around the back of your RV.

That bike is 277 lbs vs 346 for the XL650L. It is no 2-stroke in weight, but definitely lighter. I will never ride some 300+ pound behemoth down some trail because everytime I ride, I end up dropping a bike. At least once.

take across the USA on my RV.

I'm not loading a 400 or 600 on the back of my rv every time I want to stop. They're WAY too big and worthless offroad.
