01-08-2002, 11:03 PM well, I had court today for racing that Z28. The law enforcement officer was very generous and let me off with 16 mph over. Then I went to court and paid the minimum fine of $150. I guess it worked out well...Id really be pissed if I was the other guy...lost to a 4 banger then got a ticket for racing...I feel bad 01-09-2002, 11:31 AM Thats what i think is sooo funny. I mean a few years ago it was unheard of to hear about a 4 cylinder beating an 8 cylinder... That's twice the cylinders my friend (duh). I feel if a 4-banger can so much as KEEP UP with an 8 cylinder, its a damn shame. Screw that "you can either win by an inch or by a mile" bulls***. The 4-banger driver obviously either knows more about building up their cars, or is a better driver to keep up with a car that has 200% more the cylinders. Peace PeotchRedZ 01-09-2002, 02:47 PM HeyHeyHey, watch out. 4 cylinder cars definitely have a weight advantage. Also you have to think how many slooooow 4 cylinder cars there are out there, and most v-8 car are pretty fast stock. So the owners are happy with the performance so they don't modify them....until they get beat by a 4-banger ....Now you have to race my Z28. HighTachPrez 01-09-2002, 03:19 PM heh, didn't mean to start any beef Red Just saying if i drove an acura, and i got beat by a 2 cylinder thingy, i'd be kinda pissed 94GS-R 01-09-2002, 10:23 PM Yeh.. i agree.. if i got beat by a 2 cylinder thing i would be pissed too. Stegall 01-09-2002, 10:31 PM Lets not start in on the 4 cyl can beat a 8 cyl crap. Your average civic will loose ever time to a mustang GT. Slap a turbo on the civic and it'll eat the mustang up. Put a turbo on the GT and your back to where you started. PeotchRedZ 01-10-2002, 02:44 PM It's cool, i'm all about any car that goes fast, i don't really care how many cylinders you hve. I really woudn't be that pissed if i lost to a 4-cyl. (although it hasn't happened yet). fast is fast, who cares how you get there. I know i pissed a lot of Mustangs off when i beat them in my dad's Taurus SHO. 01-10-2002, 02:57 PM Come to spartanburg and maybe we can change your winning streak. PeotchRedZ 01-10-2002, 06:16 PM I want to come up sometime. Maybe some weekend in the not too distant future. but like i said i wouldn't mind losing... not that i would. J/k. Really tho if you beat me, then you get props, b/c NO 0ne around here has a fast 4-cyl...at least not too many, and none that i've raced. But my car is a far cry from finished. Theres soooo much i want to do to it, and so little money to do it with. A pretty common problem i guess. oneblowntwo 01-10-2002, 10:19 PM majority of imports run 9s and 10s at shadey side. majority or domestics run 6s and 7s. nuff said. hey chris did you sign up for jury trial that day? j/w. 88crx dx 92 mr2t 01-10-2002, 10:52 PM yes, and street driven domestics here run between 7-9. It usually tends to fall in the 8s and we have imports here that run 8s Impreza75 01-11-2002, 12:56 PM Althought by the summer, there will be a few Imports in the 7s. all of them 4 bangers. And by NOPI next year there will be even more. Couple from Greenville, couple from Spartanburg. Impreza75 01-11-2002, 12:59 PM And also, the only daily driven domestics in the 6s I see in the area are the Grand Nationals. Don't see any daily driven 6 second stangs or camaros. Although technically since we dont' have emissions, all you need to have are lights and bumpers and your "street legal". but hey, any fool can go fast in a straight line right?? =) Ben Howard 01-11-2002, 01:32 PM Get em Will! Haha thats bout as bad as me racing on the Highway! Impreza75 01-11-2002, 04:25 PM Racing you on the highway is a very sensitive topic for me Ben. I shall have my revenge BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA....oh um.....sorry. PeotchRedZ 01-18-2002, 07:11 PM hey, when's the next time ppl are going to the track...i've never been, and i want to see what i can do. 91lx 01-19-2002, 03:01 AM Shady Side is open Sunday I believe there will be a few people up there. Most people who have a car running 6's have enough money to have another daily driver. I dont think the upkeep would make much sense just bragging rights you have a 6 second daily driver. My friend Travis runs 6's in his daily driven stang. He's the only person I know of around here who drives it every day. |
