wrong....TRUE.....
GENESIS 2:8-9
Quote:
|
8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The concept of evil and all that it embodies was already in existence BEFORE the serpent entered the story, so you are wrong. The Bible is clear on this. EVIL existed because God created everything, including evil, Himself. The scriptures don't lie and they disagree with you completely.
there will be women

the Bible tends to focus on men...men have the authority over women

The Bible focuses on men??
EVE
HAGAR
REBECCA
RACHAEL
TAMAR
MIRIAM
DEBORAH
JAEL
DELILAH
BATHSHEBA
JEZEBEL
RUTH
ESTHER
These are just some of the women in the Bible that received plenty of focus, from the old testament actually with this list. Several others were plainly mentioned without names being involved, such as the gentile woman that spoke to Jesus. While there is most definitely an abundance of men involved in scriptures, there is no truth to your claim that the bible focuses on men. Much of the bible tells historical stories, and clearly the women were not forgotten.
Funny how women are mentioned so many times in the bible, yet for this specific topic, there is no mention of them. If the point was that God's Word focused on men, then it would surely have focused more on men throughout the entire book and not just when talking about this particular topic--the repopulation of the earth. BUT--let's see now....
1--God populated the earth the first time starting with only two people, Adam and Eve.
2--God populated the earth the second time using a very few select group of people--Noah and those who were on the ark with him.
3--Now you want us to believe that God would need 144,000 jewish virgin men to do the same job for a third time? God's method in this issue has always been "less is more".....

the major and minor prophets refer to the Millennium in detail, and there is no mention of asexual reproduction, ha
quite the contrary, it will be like it was at the time of Eden....God will restore the earth after 6,000 years or sin, decay, and death....that much is supernatural
|
Wrong again. If it is to be like it was in the time of Eden, God would use two people--a man and a woman....not 144,000 dudes in a sausage fest. Two people is how it was in the time of Eden. Perhaps this 144,000 are to serve a different purpose, or there is another part to the puzzle which is unclear to you still...

it would be difficult to re-populate the earth in that case
|
No, it wouldnt....not for GOD. God made man....like it was nothing. God then made woman, like it was nothing. God designed everything like it was a mere wave of the hand, so why would it be difficult for Him to repopulate the earth under any circumstances?
What if the earth is not even supposed to survive? I wonder why we dont see any mention of this...what if it is supposed to be replaced by something else? In Isaiah 65, which you posted, it even says this:
Quote:
Isaiah 65
Behold, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice forever
in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight
and its people a joy.
|
It would seem that, rather than repopulation, actual survival is more the key....God takes His chosen and puts them on this new earth, and they reproduce only to keep their kind continuing and not to repopulate anything. What if the 144,000 is also intended to be about the size of the population in this new world??
Some other things that this passage tells....
Quote:
Isaiah 65
Behold, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice forever
in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight
and its people a joy.
I will rejoice over Jerusalem
and take delight in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying
will be heard in it no more.
Never again will there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;
he who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere youth;
he who fails to reach a hundred
will be considered accursed.
They will build houses and dwell in them;
they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
No longer will they build houses and others live in them,
or plant and others eat.
For as the days of a tree,
so will be the days of my people;
my chosen ones will long enjoy
the works of their hands.
They will not toil in vain
or bear children doomed to misfortune;
for they will be a people blessed by the LORD,
they and their descendants with them.
Before they call I will answer;
while they are still speaking I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb will feed together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox,
but dust will be the serpent's food.
They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,"
says the LORD.

1--how can there be no more weeping or crying if there are still those who are cursed? Isnt a curse a bad thing? Dont people weep and cry over bad things? If you were in this place, and you were one of the accursed, isnt it possible that you would be weeping and crying because of it? Seems like a contradiction to me....

Isnt this a direct contradiction to the precise way that Jesus taught others to be? Why would a compassionate man not wish to give of what he has to another? ESPECIALLY if there are still cursed people around....Jesus Himself came to the earth and fed the poor, cared for the sick, and had compassion for the elderly....yet now, suddenly, the chosen ones are supposed to stop all that and act totally differently. What is the point of wanting to be more like Jesus if getting to this "new earth" means that you have to leave that behind and do a 180?

and btw, get I get amen as to what the God of Israel "brings to the table"??

Maybe you would, if you understood it yourself....
