that doesn't mean shit when it comes to accidents. no ammount of practice can get you to where you can know what another driver is going to do before they do it. Sure, you can guess, but you can't know.
There is one sure rule when riding on two wheels, you will wreck. Be it today, tomorrow, or even next year, you will go down. Or you might even T-bone a car. But it will happen.

Suspension mods -are- power mods
They allow more efficient power transfer to the pavement, allow you to handle the power better, etc.
and, in my not so humble opinion, big pipes are only needed when intake mods are done. There is no point in having a huge exhaust system and a super restrictive intake/valve train.

im 19, no accidents or tickets (knock on wood) and i have my motorcycle license, but yet to get a motorcycle. ive been quoted for 500 dollars a year here in los angeles california for insurance (liability only of course)
ive been riding a motorcycle since last summer in the philippines, i was 17. i was riding around town, 40-60mph without a helmet. stupid i know, but i learned. since then ive been driving on and off with my friends bikes. i would suggest playing around in the dirt before you play in the street. alot of it has to do with riding in your limits. im no where near trying anything stupid, like tricks and speed, and i know if i do, i might die, so its out of the question.
im waiting for money to get a bike now =D

Bike payments are cheap, like with anything else it's how quickly you want to pay it off.
I have full coverage for about $500 a year. I know someone inside GMAC however, which is the only reason it's that low.
As far as the whole dirt vs. street argument, eh I don't know about that. I started on dirt too, but they are two completely different arenas. I would just reccommend getting a smaller bike and and learning to ride in empty parking lots and streets before hopping up to something bigger or going out in traffic. Just don't be a dumbass and learn the ins and outs of your machine, that's about it.
Funny, I just finished installing new stainless lines front and rear, hawk pads, Ohlins damper, and a new Dynojet PC on my CBR.......We'll see what the southeast Ducati club has in store for me this spring. Track days at Kershaw, Martinsville, and Charlotte only cost $100 this year.

Exactly. They make you follow a lead rider for a while in the lower flights, but after that it's open season. Can't beat 8-9 hours on exclusive tracks like these for $100.

Absolutely. The difference you notice with new lines in a car is negligible compared to the difference on a bike.
And yeah, Ohlins just received a healthy chunk of my weekly pay....

It's a semi-wise investment. Definite difference in performance though. What kind of sled do you have?

its an 05 RMK 700.
I need better shocks, since this thing has the very base POS non-adjustable shocks on it. Though the Expert X suspension looks bad ass.
