Supplements

Alright fellas, it seems that a good amount of you guys lift weights. So my question to you is what supplements are you currently taking? Notice any improvements?

As for me I'm currently taking Muscle Milk Protein powder and EAS Premium Protein (from Costco). I currently don't see any improvements since I've just been on them for two weeks.

Stop fucking around with Muscle Milk. That's a low quality MRP. Get something called SAN INfusion instead. A far superior product. YOu can get it off Amazon.com for $30 for a little over 2 lbs. about $8 more than Muscle Milk.

EAS protein is okay, but check out AST VP2 and Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard.

Also, an often overlooked supp is called NAC. search for AST NAC 500. it boosts glutathione levels whihc in turn promotes muscle tissue growth.

Get these 3 things. Take 2 scoop of SAN when you get up or before bed. Take a scoop of VP2 protein powder 30 minutes before and after a workout.Take 1-2 NAC tabs with your post-workout protein. YOu'll see results in about 2 weeks.

YZF is way off. YOu NEED protein after a workout to build mass. I've done a shitload of training, and you simply need a fast delivery protein like AST VP2 for the best results. You're workouts should only last about an hour. And your'e gonna need that protien to repair the muscle and add mass.

I could post a pic of me with and without supplements if I could find them.

I agree... enthu sounds more like a commercial in the sense that saying his product is superior, rather than stating a single fact as to why. Whey protein does promote muscle growth in various ways, one of which by naturally promoting testosterone. Without testosterone, you can tone up, but not build mass. This is why anabolic steroids yield such great results (not that I would ever use or recommend using that shit, especially when young.) I use whey as a meal replacement sometimes, and when I do lift, but I don't drink it and lift hardcore. I buy six-star... tastes good, and has every essential amino acid and then some. Amino acids supplied by protein is what makes protein "essential" for muscle growth.

not to hi-jack his thread but what about weight gainer... i'm a small guy and i try to eat about 4 meals a day at 1000-1400 calories each meal mainly chicken, fish, or steak and i'm cutting back on sugars from sodas and candy but its not enough it seems. in doing this over the last 8 months i've only gained 5 or so lbs which i really blame on my drinking habit. so i guess the question is whats a good weight gainer that actually works or are they all bs and i just need to eat 5-6 meals daily

Don't fuck with them, or they'll fuck with you.

Supplements are bad. PERIOD.

Either way, this place has been the same 9 douchebags posting stupid bullshit day after day, and it is boring as hell. Some girl joins up and starts posting pictures of herself and rather than enjoy the fact that something fairly interesting is happening in this otherwise dead lounge, people are being fags. I could give a shit one way or the other, but the next time someone finds themselves wondering why this forum is so fucking dead all the time, just think back to this.

I used cyto-gainer for a few months and put on about 15 lbs, since I couldn't for the life of me gain weight. With milk it's 870 calories/serving, max of 3 servings/day, but if your already taking in 1000-1400 calories per meal IDK how successful this will be for you. I had a hard time eating much after I took this after work outs.
But it definitely tastes delicious
