Numbers 22 (NIV)

" 26 Then the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat her with his staff. 28 Then the LORD opened the donkey's mouth, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?"

29 Balaam answered the donkey, "You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now."

30 The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?"

And of course you would read it that way...how else would you take the Lords word? What part of the 'mocking' picture of a puppet was so threatening to your faith? I know it was a big bad scary picture of a puppet horse, did it really rattle your cage?

so god must have modified the brain of the donky to include a speech center, filled that newly formed speech center with the language, added the understanding of that language so the donky could formulate coherent concepts, given the donky a SOUL so the donky could understand justice and REBELL against the authority of the higher being with a stick that god already had given dominion over the donky, modified the throat of the donky to include vocal cords capable of human speech sounds, taught the donky HOW to make human speech sounds with his new larynx.

all in a matter of seconds with no noticable waste heat.

too bad god can't put out that sort of effort to regrow lost arms and legs on religious war mutilated children, but then, how would that add to his glory ?
