V8 RX-7 progress

I dropped the '87 RX-7 off at Racetech Fabrications in Portland today. The car is getting a full cage so it will be safer for track days and will add to the chassis rigidity.

My last caged car had NASCAR style door bars on the driver's side, but since this car is keeping it's side windows this cage will have an X brace on the sides. If I decide to never drive the car on the street I can have the door bars redone.

I'll post pictures once I have them. The cage is supposed to be done by Sunday.

Well, here we are one month and one day later. I picked the car up this afternoon with it's nice new roll cage. I didn't have time to unload the car and take pictures so I had to steal the ones the fabricator Russ Nyberg took. I'll post my own pics later. There are more tubes than shown here. The cage is only about 1/2 done in the shot. The horizontal bar is not in the main hoop yet as I have to fit the seat first.
